Case study

Itterno — recovering what’s left behind

The problem

When someone dies, their digital life doesn’t stop on its own. Accounts stay open, subscriptions keep billing, and photos, messages, and assets sit locked behind logins nobody else has. Families are left to sort it out during the worst weeks of their lives — often without knowing where to start, or that they have legal rights to the data at all.

The approach

I founded Itterno to fix this. Danish law gives families a 10-year right to a deceased person’s digital estate, but almost no one uses it. Itterno automates the process: an OSINT and LLM-based discovery engine identifies a person’s digital footprint, verifies identity and authority, and handles recovery end-to-end — built on an event-driven AWS architecture (Lambda, Aurora, Bedrock) that I designed, built, and run myself.

We distribute through funeral homes, so families encounter Itterno at the moment they need it — not after searching for it.

End to end

I own this end-to-end — the architecture, the AI systems, the infrastructure, and the team that ships it.

Bistro — a code review tool built the way I want to work

Bistro is a keyboard-first, local-first code review client I’ve been building on the side — no browser tab, no cloud dependency, just a fast desktop app built on Go and Wails. It routes review requests based on git history instead of arbitrary assignment, supports bring-your-own-key LLM endpoints, and skips real-time sync entirely by design.

It’s open source under GPLv3, with a contributor license agreement in place for anyone submitting code.

Background

10+ years shipping production software, across engineering, finance, and operations. Before Itterno, I worked as a technical and business analyst and software developer at Howdy, and as an equity research analyst in Prague — building financial models, running BI and reporting, and shipping GPT-4 into production. I hold a Master’s in Technology Entrepreneurship from the Technical University of Denmark.
